The science-led quality dialogue on all-day care

of the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education organized a series of workshops on "Success factors for good all-day programs". The 12 webinars on six different topics took place online between January 15 and May 11, 2021. After presentations and panel discussions by experts from academia and practice, the 40-80 participants were able to exchange ideas verbally and in the form of a writing conversation on the padlet. There was also the possibility for the participants to exchange ideas in smaller groups during breakout sessions.

The conference "Regional Climate Change in the Coastal Region - Shaping our Future Together"

by the research network REKLIM "Regional Climate Change and Humans" of the Helmholtz Association was held on June 8, 2021. The event took place purely digitally this year as part of the annual REKLIM regional conferences due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to a series of presentations and Q&A sessions on the consequences of climate change in the German coastal zone, there was a panel discussion on the question "Why is the climate now more important than ever?". In the interactive "Klönschnack" on SpatialChat, the participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the renowned speakers from science and civil society during a lunch break.  In an informal setting, they were able to ask specific questions about the state of research and discuss possible challenges and approaches.

The WWF's Climate Pub Quiz

has been a tradition in pertinent circles in Berlin for several years. After the quiz had to be cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, puzzle-loving climate experts gathered digitally in SpatialChat on June 10, 2021 to revive the tradition. In three rounds, the teams puzzled against each other and used the time between the question rounds for informal conversations and digital "socializing".

The "Social Economy Berlin Conference - Shaping the Economy Together"

by Social Economy Berlin (SEB) took place on May 19-20, 2021 as a hybrid event at Umweltforum Berlin and Hopin. The two-day conference addressed numerous topics around building a shared ecosystem for Social Entrepreneurship and Social Solidarity Economy in Berlin. About 550 participants from all sectors of the sustainable and social economy attended panel discussions, best practice sessions and selected keynotes from experts in the sector. The Social Economy Camp with eleven interactive workshops offered many opportunities for discussion and exchange among each other.

The Silbernetz Congress "Network against loneliness in old age"

for the constitution of a network against loneliness in old age took place online on November 12/13, 2020. The ambitious program of workshops, breakout groups and high-level panel discussions aimed to engage policy makers and academia more on this topic and develop a platform for "Loneliness in Old Age". With the participation of German Health Minister Spahn and EU Vice President Suica, the problems and challenges were discussed, especially in times of a pandemic. Afterwards, workshops were held to develop solution approaches for the establishment of a network but also very concrete ideas for thematic work.

Climate Policy in Times of Corona - How do Germany and the EU achieve their climate goals?

was held on October 8, 2020, as a joint conference of the Climate Alliance Germany, the Foundation 2° and E3G due to the COVID-19 pandemic in a hybrid event format. Most of the high-ranking speakers were on site at the ProjektZentrum Berlin of Stiftung Mercator, while the audience was able to participate digitally. After some short presentations with Q&A rounds and a panel discussion, the participants had the opportunity to network.

„Male, female, divers – new perspectives of gender diversity in the working place”

was the topic of the online conference that brought together more than a dozen speakers and over 240 guests on November 12, 2020. Following an invitation of the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency three research teams presented their new studies and recommendations touching on different aspects of the topic. In expert commentaries and open question rounds, speakers from the fields of science, civil society, politics and economics discussed the presentations and the findings and facts raised in them. The guests followed the presentations and discussion in a live stream and were able to participate in the discussion via chat.
